Eckerd Splits Doubleheader at No. 20 Rollins

WINTER PARK, Fla. - The Eckerd softball team scored early to down No. 20 Rollins in the opener, 3-1, on Saturday afternoon before dropping game two, 2-0, on the road.

Eckerd struck early in the opener with an RBI single by Lauren Margolis for a 1-0 lead in the third frame. The Tritons added on another two runs in the fifth for a 3-0 favor on a pair of RBI singles by Jadyn Wright and Hannah Taylor. Rollins rallied for a run in the seventh, but Olivia Johnson coaxed a pair of pop-ups to end the game.

Neither team was able to generate much offense in the finale. The Tars added the game's only runs on a two-run homer in the fourth. Eckerd threatened in the seventh with two runners on but RC ended the game with a groundout.
