Tritons Fall Short to Sailfish

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - The Eckerd baseball team rallied to take a 4-3 lead after falling behind 3-0 but could not keep the advantage, falling to the Sailfish 6-5 on Saturday evening at the Turley Athletic Complex.

The Sailfish opened the game with a solo homerun by Nate Housen for the one-run lead. They added another run in the second frame for an early 2-0 tilt. PBA added another run in the third on a failed double play for the Sailfish to lead 3-0.

Eckerd answered back in the fifth as Tyler Cox singled through the right side for the Tritons' first run of the night. Kam Gelwick followed with a two-RBI single to right center to even the score at three. An RBI single by Joe Wike gave the Tritons their first advantage of the game, leading 4-3.

Housen hit his second solo homerun of the night in the sixth to tie the ball game at four a side.  A sacrifice fly later in the frame gave the Sailfish a 5-4 lead.  Housen registered his third RBI in the seventh for PBA to lead 6-4.

Eckerd added a late run in the eighth on a sacrifice fly by Kyle Abbott, but it was not enough as PBA took the game 6-5.
