Tritons Spilt With Montevallo

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - The Eckerd softball team came from behind to take game one over the Falcons, 8-4, and nearly completed another comeback win in game two but ultimately fell, 5-3, to Montevallo (Ala.) on Saturday afternoon at the Turley Athletic Complex.

Eckerd jumped out to an early lead in the first frame with a two-run single by Addisan Langston. However, the Falcons used a four-run fourth to take a 4-2 favor. EC regained the lead in the third on a solo blast by Ella Coiner and a two-run double by Abby Lucas

Coiner and Hannah Taylor added RBI singles in the fourth, and Megan Diaz added another in the sixth to seal the Tritons' win.

Eckerd held a 1-0 favor through the fourth inning of the second game thanks to an RBI double by Taylor in the opening frame. The Falcons equalized with a bases-loaded walk in the fifth. UM took the lead for good in the sixth with four runs. EC rallied in the sixth with a two-run double by Kinsley Castro. However, Eckerd was unable to make up the difference, falling 5-3.
