BOCA RATON, Fla. - The Eckerd men's soccer team fell in the SSC Quarterfinals on the road at No. 1 Lynn, 6-0, Monday night.
Lynn got on the board first with a goal in the 16th minute. Tommy Shepherd nearly equalized a minute later after playing a ball through the defense. He turned and fired a shot, but the LU keeper stopped it. The Knights doubled their score in the 36th minute for a 2-0 lead. Eckerd had two more shots on frame late, but neither found the back of the net as the Tritons trailed at intermission, 2-0.
The Knights added to their lead with a pair of goals in the 68th and 77th minute before tallying another pair of goals in the 82nd and 86th minutes. Eckerd was unable to place a shot on frame in the second half, falling 6-0.
