BOCA RATON, Fla. - The Eckerd baseball team started its final series of the season with a 5-3 win over the Lynn Fighting Knights on Friday afternoon at Bobby Campbell Stadium after rallying for two runs late.
Cam Collier opened the scoring for the Tritons, bringing home Tyler Cox on a sacrifice fly to left field for the early 1-0 tilt in the first inning. Eckerd added two runs in the fourth on RBI singles by Tyler Young and Jake Fajardo for a 3-0 advantage. Lynn evened the game with a three-run inning in the bottom of the frame.
Eckerd regained its lead with an RBI single by Kyle Ericson to lift the Tritons to a 4-3 favor in the eighth. They added an insurance run in the final frame as Peter Stavrakos scored on a balk.
