DADE CITY, Fla. - The Eckerd softball team dropped its Sunshine State Conference doubleheader, 3-2 and 9-2, on the road at No. 13 Saint Leo on Saturday afternoon.
Eckerd struck first in the opener with a pair of runs in the fourth inning on Addisan Langston's two-run double. However, Saint Leo plated three runs in the bottom of the frame on a trio of RBI run singles to take a 3-2 favor. EC was unable to get a runner aboard in the final three innings as SLU took game one, 3-2.
The Lions took an early 4-0 edge in the second inning of the finale with three RBI hits and a run scoring on an error.
Eckerd responded in the third with a pair of runs on Ella Coiner's bases-loaded two-run double.
Saint Leo added six runs in the sixth to seal the game.

- Langston recorded Eckerd's only hit in the opener. She also had two RBIs.
- Cardona went 2-for-3 in the finale. Brenna Lokeinsky, Coiner, and Jadyn Wight each recorded a hit as well.
- Coiner posted two RBIs in the finale.
