Eckerd Drops Twinbill at Barry

MIAMI SHORES, Fla. - The Eckerd softball team dropped its doubleheader with Barry by scores of 7-0 and 8-0 at Buccaneer Field on Saturday afternoon.

Barry tacked on seven runs over the first four frames in the opener. The first run came in the opening frame on a bases-loaded fielder's choice. BU added two runs in the second on a two-run triple. Another run scored in the third with three in the fourth for a 7-0 Bucs lead.

Eckerd threatened in the third frame with the bases loaded on a Lauren Margolis walk, Megan Diaz single, and Sara Soterakis hit-by-pitch. However, EC was unable to push a run across.

BU jumped ahead early in the finale with six runs in the first frame on a pair of RBI singles, a fielder's choice, a stolen base, and an error. BU followed with two runs in the fourth for an 8-0 lead.

EC had runners in scoring position in the second and fourth innings but were unable to capitalize.
