SAINT AUGUSTINE, Fla. - Kam Gelwick's RBI single in the ninth scored Darius Bradley to break a 2-2 stalemate as the Tritons baseball team edged Flagler (Fla.) 3-2 on the road at Drysdale Field on Tuesday night.
It only took two batters to give the Tritons a 1-0 favor. Kam Gelwick drew a walk to lead off the game and stole second to move into scoring position. Michael Ballard followed with an RBI double to center field. In the second frame, Kyle Ericson scored on an error to add to EC's lead.Â
Flagler cut EC's lead in half with a run in the third on a bases-loaded hit by pitch and equalized in the sixth on an RBI double.
With the score tied at two in the ninth, Ericson hit a lead-off double to right center field. Jake Fajardo came in as a pinch runner and nearly gave the Tritons the advantage but was thrown out at home. Darius Bradley replaced Joe Muzio at first and stole second before Gelwick singled through the left side to bring Bradley home.Â
Rene Ramos pitched a perfect inning in the ninth to secure the Triton win, earning the save.
