Tritons Down No. 8 Rollins, 2-0

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - The Eckerd men's soccer team bookended its upset victory over the Tars with goals in the ninth and 85th minutes as the Triton defense kept No. 8 Rollins at bay for a 2-0 win at Johnson Field on Saturday night.

The Tritons got on the board in the ninth minute for the early advantage. Harry Laing slid a ball up the middle to Fredrik Heise at the 18, who beat the keeper and found the back of the net. EC continued its offensive threat with another six shots in the first half, nearly coming away with a goal in the 32nd minute as the Tritons registered three shots on goal.

The Tars pressed late with two shots on frame inside the final 10 minutes, but each was turned back by Lynden Dawson and the Triton defense. EC added an insurance goal in the 85th minute as Tommy Shepherd collected the rebound from Braden Bradford's shot and punched it in.
