FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - Despite an early 3-0 lead, the Eckerd baseball team fell, 4-3, in its series opener as Nova Southeastern rallied for four runs over the last three innings Friday night at the NSU Baseball Complex.
Dimerson Nunez plated the opening run in the second frame with an RBI single through the right side. Jake Andriole added a run in the third on an RBI single before Mitch Donofrio made it a 3-0 lead in the fourth with a solo homerun.
The Sharks rallied late, plating two runs in the sixth on an RBI single and sacrifice fly. NSU tied the game in the seventh on a sacrifice fly before adding the go-ahead run in the eighth on Alex Hernandez's RBI double.

- Tyler Cox and Mitch Donofrio led EC with two hits each.
- Donofrio's homerun was his seventh of the season. He has hit six homeruns over his last nine games.
- Michael Ballard extends his hitting streak to 11 games with a single in the second.
- Jake Andriole extended his reached base streak to 20 games, while three other Tritons have streaks above 15 games: Joe Wike (17), Ballard (17), and Danny Gutcher (16).
- Jacob Stipp tossed six innings allowing just two runs while striking out six.
