ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - The Tritons offense struggles to gain momentum while the Saints scored early as the Eckerd baseball team fell to Flagler (Fla.), 3-0, in Friday night's series opener at the Turley Athletic Complex.
Flagler struck early with a pair of runs in the third frame on an RBI single and a sacrifice fly. The Saint took a 3-0 lead in the fifth on a sacrifice fly by Donavan Garcia.
The Tritons had a pair of runners in scoring position in the second as Michael Ballard singled, followed by a Danny Gutcher double, but EC was unable to push a run across. EC had another opportunity in the sixth, but the run was cut down at the plate.
