ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - The Eckerd men's soccer team fell to Tampa, 2-0, Wednesday night at Johnson Field following a pair of second-half goals by the Spartans.
EC had a few close-range shots inside the first ten minutes of the match with chances by Harry Laing and Blake Bauer, but neither were able to convert. The Spartans had three quality looks on goal inside the final 10 minutes of the first half. However, Tritons' keeper Lynden Dawson was there to turn back the shot each time as the teams entered halftime scoreless.
Juancho Fernandez quickly put UT on the board into the second half with a goal in the 57th minute, and Omar Thali gave Tampa a 2-0 lead 14 minutes later. EC had one final look on goal on a Ty Dolan free-kick with 10 minutes left, but the shot missed high.
