Tritons Edged by Shorter, 4-3

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - The Tritons and Hawks traded goals at Johnson Field, with the Tritons responding twice to equalize the match Sunday afternoon. However, Shorter (Ga.) added the go-ahead goal in the 88th minute as the Eckerd men's soccer team fell, 4-3.

Harry Laing got the Tritons on the board early, finding the back of the net in the 16th minute with a shot to the upper right corner. However, Shorter's Mattia Maiello tied the game at 1-1 with a goal in the 31st minute, and the team's remained tied at halftime.

SU took the lead quickly into the second half with a goal in the 49th minute, but Tritons' Jonathan Falbe-Hansen netted the equalizer just two minutes later.

The Hawks Isaac Franklin gave Shorter its lead back in the 64th minute. However, the Tritons responded again, evening the game at 3-3, as Zachary Ervanian's free-kick from the backline found Braden Bradford at the top left of the 18, where Bradford one-touched it into the back of the net in the 82nd minute.

Shorter added the game-winning goal in the final two minutes following a Bailey Lopez free-kick at the top of the 18.
