ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – The Eckerd softball team dropped a conference matchup on Friday evening as Embry-Riddle rallied past the Tritons late for 9-5 win at the Turley Athletic Complex.
Skylar Redish gave EC an early four-run lead after crushing a grand slam to center in the bottom of the third inning. The Eagles responded with seven unanswered runs between the fourth and sixth innings to take the lead. The Tritons added a run in the sixth following an RBI single from
Ally Costa, but the Eagles remained in control the rest of the way.

KEY MOMENTS
- A wild pitch on a strikeout allowed Meredith McGinnis to reach first base, the Tritons followed with a single and walk to load the bases. With two outs, Redish pounded a grand slam to straight on center field as EC took a 4-0 lead in the third.
- Embry-Riddle answered in the fourth with an RBI double that landed just in fair territory on the left field line and out of the reach of River Glenn.
- Embry-Riddle carried their momentum into the fifth inning as they picked up four straight hits, including a pair of RBI hits, to open the inning and pull within one run. The Eagles followed with back-to-back squeeze bunts to plate two more runs and take a 5-4 lead.
- Embry-Riddle added to their lead with a two-run double in the sixth.
- EC looked to cut the deficit down in the sixth inning as they rallied for one run. Costa ripped a single to left field to score Hannah Famiano, who reached on a single to lead off the inning, as EC only trailed by two runs.
- In the top of the seventh frame, the Eagles capped their scoring with back-to-back RBI singles to take a 9-5 lead.
