ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - The Eckerd baseball team wrapped up its regular season on Monday night with an 8-5 loss to visiting Flagler (Fla.) College at the Turley Athletic Complex.
The Saints scored all their runs in the second and third innings while the Tritons' comeback attempt came up short.

KEY MOMENTS
- Flagler got to EC starter Drew Martin early. After Martin pitched around two singles in the first, the Saints batted around in the second scoring five times.
- The Saints added three more runs in the third taking advantage of four walks and two wild pitches for an 8-0 lead.
- Eckerd scored in the fourth on a sacrifice fly by Keith Leavitt, Jr., then added two more in the fifth on a Sam Cochrane RBI single and Jake Romine sacrifice fly.
- The Tritons further cut into the deficit in the seventh, scoring two runs before getting a hit in the innning. Cochrane was hit by a pitch and Santos Grande walked to start the inning. Cochrane then scored on a wild throw on a pickoff attempt and an error by centerfielder Dillon Reed. Romine brought in Grande with his second sacrifice fly of the game.
- The freshman tandem of Ryan Lashley and Kyle Durham held FC scoreless over the last six innings but Eckerd was unable to make up the difference in eighth and ninth stranding a runner in each frame.
NOTES AND NUMBERS
- Nick Arrivo extended his hitting streak to 13 games in his first at-bat of the game in the sixth inning.
- Lashley turned in his best outing of the season going 4-2/3 innings allowing no runs on four hits and striking out six. He got Eckerd out of a bases-loaded jam in the third.
- The Tritons totaled 13 hits in the game and had at least one hit in each inning, but stranded 12 runners.
