KEY MOMENTS
- Eckerd got plenty of runners on in the first two innings but couldn't break the stalemate until the third inning. After Van Gennep and Kaleigh Floyd singled and a Paul walk loaded the bases, the Tritons pushed the first run across taking advantage of a Lion error on a Chelsea Armstrong grounder.
- Eckerd added three runs in the fifth inning to create a cushion that it would need. Paul delivered the first two runs of the inning with the two-run homerun to left center driving in Floyd who led off the inning with a walk. Ally Costa then drove in the final run of the inning with a pinch-hit double down the right field line plating Armstrong.
- Saint Leo ended Van Gennep's shutout bid in the sixth, scoring via an RBI double and a Triton error on an attempted play at the plate.
- Eckerd added another run in the sixth inning as Floyd scored from first following a Lion error after a Paul single to right center.
- Van Gennep was clutch in the top of the seventh, retiring the side in order to seal the victory.
