ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – It's a quieter week for Eckerd athletics as men and women's basketball play one game at Lynn on Wednesday ahead of a bye weekend on Saturday.

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL

  • The Tritons look to bounce back after two losses last week as they travel to take on Lynn Wednesday night.
  • Eckerd (11-4, 5-3 SSC) is led on offense by four players: Kacie Juday (13.0 points per game), Yarden Danan (10.5), Zoe Richards (9.4), and Chelsea Johnson (9.2). Juday's 13.0 points per game rank tenth in the conference. Richards tops the team in field goal percentage shooting at a 63.1 percent clip, while Danan leads the team from behind the arc sinking 30 3-pointers on the season at a 37.5 shooting percentage.
  • Leading the team on the boards is Juday averaging 8.1 rebounds per game, seventh-best in the conference. Also contributing on the glass are Richards and Armi Anttila each with 4.4 rebounds per game.
  • Ada Yalcin distributes the ball well averaging a conference second-best 4.4 assists per game. Yalcin also adds 7.3 points per game and leads the team with 1.8 swipes per contest.
  • Lynn (6-8, 2-5 SSC) enters the contest off a win over Embry-Riddle and a loss to Florida Southern last week. The Knights are led by two players averaging double figures: Paola Vazquez Concepcion (15.5 ppg) and Jaylen Snipes (11.3). Leading the team in rebounding is Juju Uloma (5.9), Mariah Penascino (5.1), and Janay William (5.0).
  • Last season, the two teams played three times with Eckerd winning each contest. The Tritons swept the series in the regular season and beat the Knights in the opening round of the SSC Tournament.

  • Eckerd (13-2, 6-2 SSC) looks to maintain its spot near the top of the conference as the team travels to Lynn on Wednesday night for an SSC contest.  
  • The Triton offense is led by a quartet of players averaging double-digits: Drushaun McLaurn (18.8 points per game), Trevon Young (16.7), Blake Morrow (13.9), and Keshawn Ingram (11.0). McLaurn ranks eighth in the conference in scoring while Young ranks 12th. McLaurn leads the team in field goal percentage, shooting at a 61.9 percent clip ranking 26th in the nation. Ingram, Morrow, and Travis Bianco lead the team behind the arc sinking a combined 81 3-pointers. The trio all shoot over 37 percent from beyond the arc, while Ingram leads the way with a 39.1 percentage.
  • The team excels on the glass ranking seventh in the country in rebound margin averaging 10.5 more rebounds per game than opponents. Young tops the team averaging 9.8 rebounds per game, ranking 28th in the country. Young's 147 total rebounds rank 18th in the country and his eight double-doubles on the season rank 10th. Also contributing on the glass is McLaurn and Marco Behori averaging 6.1 and 5.8 rebounds per game respectively.
  • Lynn (6-7, 3-4 SSC) enter the contest with two wins last week over Embry-Riddle and Florida Southern. The Knights are led by three players averaging double-digits: Jamal Palmer (12.6), Randy Bell (11.5), and Ryan Peterson (11.5). Rasheed Worrell leads the team on the boards averaging 7.2 rebounds per game.
  • Last season, Eckerd swept Lynn in the regular season and has won five in a row against the Fighting Knights.
