TRITONS THIS WEEK: What's Coming On January 15-21

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla.-  Eckerd basketball is back in full action this week with a pair of SSC contests. The teams travel to Saint Leo on Wednesday and return home on Saturday after a two-week road stretch taking on Florida Tech.

  • After losing three in a row, Eckerd (11-5, 5-4 SSC) looks to get back into the win column as the Tritons travel to Saint Leo on Wednesday and host Florida Tech on Saturday.
  • The Tritons are led by Kacie Juday (12.7 points per game) and Yarden Danan (10.5) averaging double-digit figures. Behind the pair is the duo of Chelsea Johnson and Zoe Richards both averaging 9.4 points per game. Richards leads the team shooting at a 61.5 percent clip from the floor, while Danan leads the team behind the arc shooting 38 percent from 3-point range.
  • Juday also leads the team on the boards averaging a conference fourth-best 8.4 rebounds per game. Also contributing on the glass are Armi Anttila and Richards averaging 4.6 and 4.5 rebounds per game respectively.
  • Ada Yalcin controls the Triton offense averaging 4.5 assists per game - second-best in the conference - to go along with 7.3 points per game.
  • Saint Leo (7-10, 2-7 SSC) enters the game on a four-game skid in conference play losing to Florida Tech and Nova Southeastern last week. Ragen Dotson leads the Lions' offense averaging 12.8 points per game. Behind Dotson is Gina Brierley averaging 8.9 points per game. Nikira Hooks and Alani Gallagher lead the team in rebounding averaging 5.2 and 5.1 per game respectively.
  • Florida Tech (8-7, 5-4 SSC) enters the week on the strength of wins over Tampa and Saint Leo last week and will travel to Embry-Riddle on Wednesday before heading to the McArthur Center on Saturday. The Panthers have two players averaging double-digits: DeLise Williams (12.6) and Gracie Doane (10.1). Kailyn Ebb (6.3) leads the Panthers on the boards while Williams also grabs 5.3 rebounds per game.
  • Last season, Eckerd swept the series from Saint Leo. Earlier this season, Eckerd beat FIT on the road 74-59.

  • Eckerd (13-3, 6-3 SSC) looks to bounce back after a loss last week as they travel to Saint Leo on Wednesday and host Florida Tech on Saturday.
  • The Tritons are led by a quartet of players averaging double-digits: Drushaun McLaurn (19.0 ppg), Trevon Young (16.6), Blake Morrow (13.1), and Keshawn Ingram (10.9). McLaurn's 19.0 points per game rank eighth in the conference. His 124 field goals rank 19th in the country and his 61.7 field goal percentage ranks 24th. Ingram leads the team behind the arc sinking 38 3-pointers on the season at a 38.0 shooting percentage.
  • The team excels on the boards ranking 11 in the country in rebound margin, averaging 9.6 more rebounds per game than opponents. Leading the team on the glass is Young averaging a conference third-best 9.5 rebounds per game. Young's 152 total rebounds rank 32 in the country.  McLaurn and Marco Behori average 6.3 and 5.7 rebounds per game respectively.
  • The team also excels distributing the ball with four players averaging more than two assists per game, with Behori leading the way with 3.0 per game.
  • Saint Leo (8-12, 4-5 SSC) enters the game on a four-game losing streak with losses last week to Florida Tech and Nova Southeastern. The Lions are led by four players averaging double-figures: Junior Searcy (11.8), Tyreece Brice (11.6), DeAndre King (11.5), and Isaiah Hill (11.4). Hill also averages 5.0 rebounds per game.
  • Florida Tech (9-8, 4-5 SSC) enters the week off two wins over Tampa and Saint Leo last week and will travel to Embry-Riddle before traveling to St. Petersburg on Saturday. The Panthers are led by four players averaging double-figures: Sam Daniel (26.8), Jordan Majors (21.6), Patrick Anderson (13.4), and Richard Coil (12.3). Coil and Daniel lead the team on the glass averaging 9.4 and 7.5 rebounds per game respectively.
  • Last season, Eckerd swept the series from Saint Leo. Earlier this season, Eckerd beat Florida Tech on the road, 97-83.
