FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - Shot attempts were virtually equal in the Eckerd men's soccer team's match at Nova Southeastern on Saturday night, but the Sharks took greater advantage of their opportunities on the way to a 4-2 win over the Tritons in Sunshine State Conference play.

HOW IT HAPPENED
* The Tritons struck first early in the match when
Niklas Sommerer finished off a feed from
Matheus Assumpcao in the ninth minute, beating the Sharks' keeper to the low left corner.
* NSU, however, quickly equalized the match in the 12th minute on a goal by Bestun Mohammed, then took the lead four minutes later on Mohammed's second goal.
* The Sharks extended their lead to 3-1 in the 33rd minute when Darwin Lom flicked the ball over Eckerd keeper
Alex Gott.
* The Tritons pulled back within a goal five minutes later when
Westleigh Rush corraled a failed clearance attempt and volleyed the ball into the net.
* While the first half saw a flurry of goals, the second half proved to be a defensive stalemate for 40 minutes. Â Although Eckerd was able to push forward into the attacking third and earn five corner kicks in the first 21 minutes of the half, the team couldn't slip an equalizer past NSU's Jack Howard.
* Nova Southeastern picked up an insurance goal in the 84th minute when Noel Johnson scored on an assist from Lom.
NOTES AND NUMBERS
* Eckerd held a 12-11 edge in total shots while the teams were even in shots on goal with six apiece.
* All three of Rush's goals have come in conference competition.
