In six games so far in January, Taiwo has been effective on both sides of the ball, averaging 10.3 points, 4.5 rebounds, 1.5 steals, and 0.8 blocks per game.

Taiwo was named the SSC Defensive Player of the Week on January 19 after notably racking up three blocks and three steals in the team's road victory over Saint Leo.
