Lauryn Vieira, from Haute-Savoie, France, was selected as the female recipient of the James R. Harley Award and is a three-year member of the women's basketball team. She produced one of the most accomplished careers of a women's basketball player in program history, leading Eckerd to the NCAA South Region Semifinals each of her three years, including a Sweet 16 appearance in 2023. Eckerd won the program's third SSC Tournament Championship this year. She scored 1,116 points, with 575 rebounds, 589 assists, and 247 steals, while setting five program records. She has garnered numerous awards, including WBCA First Team All-American (2023-24), D2CCA First Team All-Region (2023-24), SSC Player of the Year (2023-24), three-time SSC Defensive Player of the Year, First Team All-SSC (2023-24), two-time NCAA All-Tournament team, SSC Tournament MVP, D2CIDA National Player of the Week, 10-time SSC Player of the Week. She recently signed to play professionally in France.
