Freshman Nikole Van Gennep has transitioned quickly to the college game, working as the Tritons' No. 1 starter in the early season.  Last week, she earned two wins and a save as Eckerd was a perfect 4-0 on the week.  On Wednesday, she recovered from giving up a two-run homerun in the first inning to shut down Colorado Christian allowing four hits over seven innings while striking out six.  On Saturday, she scattered eight hits over seven innings to defeat Warner (Fla.), then worked the final 1-1/3 innings in the second game of the double-header to preserve a 2-1 win.
