Collins, a sophomore skipper, returned to his home state (along with Wes Byrne) and was one of four Tritons who traveled to California to compete in the special-invite Rose Bowl hosted by USC...Still considered part of the fall campaign, Collins and his teammates had a strong performance as the team placed seventh out of 30 programs...EC was as high as third following the completion of Saturday's races.
