Whelan enters his second as an asset to the Eckerd softball program as a pitching specialist for the Tritons.

Whelan assists EC Head Coach Josh Beauregard with handling the pitching staff and bullpen. He has played fastpitch softball since 1983 and made his residence in the surrounding St. Petersburg area since 1990.

Prior to moving to the Sunshine State, Whelan called home in Syracuse, N.Y. He has been a private pitching coach in recent history and his experience backs his playing days, mainly as a pitcher and catcher.
