CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. - The Eckerd women's golf team continued its impressive 2023-24 season with an accolade from the Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA). The Tritons ranked fifth nationally in the annual WGCA Academic Top 25 Division II All-Scholar Team as released by the organization.
EC posted an astounding 3.819 team grade-point average. Eckerd had another impressive season, ending the season ranked No. 36 in the Clippd national poll. Sandra Eriksson was selected to the NCAA South Regional, the second Triton in program history to do so. The Tritons opened the season with a win at the Invite at Innisbrook on September 25-26.
The Tritons were just .10 off the top spot and the second-ranked team in the SSC. Eckerd and Rollins were the only two SSC teams in the top-25.
The honor is the first time Eckerd has appeared in the WGCA Academic Top 25 Division II All-Scholar Team in program history.
The award recognizes the women's collegiate golf program with the highest collective average team GPA, which includes all the team's student-athletes for the 2023-24 season.
The WGCA also announced the top 25 teams with the highest team GPA for Division I, Division II, and Division III, as well as the top 10 teams for NAIA.
