MELBOURNE, Fla. - Sophomore Ella Coiner garners postseason accolades with a selection to the All Sunshine State Conference Softball Team, as announced by the conference on Tuesday, May 7.
Coiner, a third baseman from Bradenton, Florida, receives first-team honors. She topped the team in doubles with eight, stolen bases with 21, and runs with 32. Coiner finished second on the squad with a .295 batting average. She also added two homeruns and 22 RBIs.
Coiner was selected as the SSC Player of the Week following her performance against Lynn, where she slashed .500/.583/.667 over the series with six runs, six RBIs, and four stolen bases.
Her stolen bases ranked eighth in single-season records. She led the team with 13 multi-hit performances.
Madyson Coe of Saint Leo was selected as the player of the year, Kate DeSimone of Tampa was the pitcher of the year, while Nova Southeastern Maliyah Lawson was tabbed the freshman of the year. Coach of the Year honors went to Sean Cotter of Barry.
