ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – The Eckerd College men's tennis program swept all three doubles matchups to begin a chilly home dual, but Florida Tech stormed back on Sunday to claim singles competition and the final decision, 6-3.
The Tritons (0-3, 0-3 SSC) were playing their third match of the spring after facing No. 3 Lynn University and No. 22 Florida Southern College prior.
Freshman
Jonathan Cheng and junior
Madison Durley were the first off the courts at the Turley Athletic Complex, combining to cruise to an 8-1 final over Zach Eichholz and Bruno Rodrigues.
Another freshman,
Frazier Springfield, and senior
Ben Levy continued the doubles momentum and were the next down the line in the center court to add another point to EC's team totals, emerging with an 8-5 triumph.

Dylan Randazzo and sophomore
Stephen Felman converge to complete the sweep as they took down Patrick Hernandez and Riley Lorenz, also by an 8-5 score.
Randazzo, coming off his first singles win of the season against a Florida Southern No. 34 nationally ranked/No. 11 regionally ranked opponent, faced off in the No. 1 doubles battle against Beau Fieldsend, eventually falling, 6-3, 6-3.
Cheng pushed Hernandez late in the No. 5 singles duel, 6-1, 7-5, and the Panthers would regain the three points lost earlier in the afternoon.
The Tritons will take to the road for the time this spring on Saturday, making the trip to Miami Shores to take on fourth-ranked Barry University with a 10 a.m. scheduled start.
