Day Two Men's and Women's Singles/Doubles Draws
LAKELAND, Fla. – Facing some kind of combination of the top four players from each team, the Eckerd College men's and women's tennis programs completed the first day of competition at the USTA/ITA South Regional Championships on Thursday.
All women's matches were played at the Beermann Tennis Center while the men competed at the Wynee Warden Tennis Complex on the campus of host Florida Southern College.
Doubles action was the first order of business early in the morning before moving into singles draws around noon.
The Tritons were edged against their respective opponents throughout the day, but the doubles combo of sophomore
Stephen Felman and
Dylan Randazzo made Tammo Haake and Sebastian Jasyk from Valdosta State (Ga.) University sweat out an 8-6 victory.
Randazzo faced off against Jasyk for a repeat duel in singles action. Felman also matched up against a Valdosta State opponent in his first-round singles bout, falling in straight sets to Konstantin Kutschenko.

Madison Durley to open the fall campaign.
Sophomore
Amy Naula pushed Palm Beach Atlantic University's Vilja Vahatalo to the brink in the opening set to the tune of a 7-5 decision in eventual defeat.
Carson Trapp,
Gipson Hawn and
Taylor Bullock also competed in the women's singles bracket.
Updated brackets featuring consolation flight matchups will be released by FSC later this evening.
