  • Saleski played baseball for Eckerd from 1974-1977. From his time at Eckerd he holds three career and two single season records.
  • Saleski had 31 compete games and 7 shutouts.
  • In a single season, he pitched 126.2 innings and had an earned run average of 1.48. In a single season, he had 12 complete games and 11 wins.
  • He was drafted as a pitcher by the New York Yankees in the 27th round of the 1977 amateur draft.
  • Moving into the front office, Saleski was the youngest scout in baseball at the age of 23.
  • He was a scout and coach for the New York Yankees, the Florida Marlins, and the Giants for more than 30 years. He also worked alongside a fellow Eckerd Hall of Fame honoree and Eckerd alumni, Brian Sabean.
  • He helped the Marlins win the franchise's first World Series title in 1997, and the Giants to their championships in 2010 and 2012.
  • Saleski had been with the San Francisco organization since 1998 and at the age of 59, Saleski passed away while scouting at the AL Championship Series in Baltimore on Oct. 11, 2014.
