  • Marvin Clemons played basketball at Eckerd from 1966-1969. In his 3 years as a Triton, the team won 72 percent of their games. He was the team’s number 2 scorer with an average if 16.2 points per game.
  • Marvin also remains on Eckerd’s list of Top 20 career records for field goals made with 351 in his three seasons of playing for the school.
  • Professionally, Clemons worked as a human resource professional in the transportation field.
  • Clemons was also honored by Lincoln High School in 2012 for opening the door for African American athletes at college institutions. Marvin was the first African American athlete at Manatee Junior College.
