  • Gary Nutter was a starting pitcher for the Tritons baseball team.
  • During his time at Eckerd he compiled 26-12 career record, including a best single season 11-1 (.917) in terms of win-lost percentage.
  • Nutter also ranks in the top five all-time in seven pitching categories (career CG0 - 4th with 21, career IP - 5th with 321, career ERA - 5th with 3.00, single season wins - T2nd with 11, career wins - T4th with 26, single season W-L percentage -1st with .917, career SHO- T5th with 3). He ranks in the top ten all-time in five other categories, (single season GS - T6th with 14, career GS - 6th with 41, single season CG - T7th with .684).
  • After college he spent five years in the minor leagues as a 22nd-round draft selection by the Detroit Tigers.
  • He later advanced to AA-affiliate Birmingham in 1982.
  • Graduating from Eckerd with a Bachelor’s in Business, he is currently working in VP Sales and Marketing at Cass in the Jacksonville area.
