  • Becker-Dey was a Skipper on both the coed and women's sailing team in her time as a Triton graduating in 1987. She was instrumental in the team's early success as they transitioned from club to intercollegiate competition. She was named Eckerd's Skipper of the Year in 1986.
  • After Eckerd, Becker-Dey continued her sailing prowess competing in the 1996 and 2000 Olympics for the United States. In the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta, she won a bronze medal in the European class, which is a women's one-person dinghy.
  • She was named the Rolex Yachtswoman of the Year in 1990 and 1996 and was ranked No. 1 on the US Sailing Team from 1989-94.
  • She was the navigator on American3 in 1995, which was the first all women's team to compete in the America's Cup.
